Set Me Free

2013-11-18 20.44.00-2-1-1-1

There, not far, I see Happiness,
Her radiant smile warming up my soul,
Her beckoning arms offering me all,
Promises, Promises, my lifetime desires,
She holds in Her palms, like a million stars,
Lighting up the darkest abyss of my heart;
Joy so profound Her nearness brings,
Hope, buds & blooms in my every cell,
Dancing & singing She calls my name,
There! not far, I see Happiness.

I beg , beg the world; Unlock-
Unlock the fetters that bind my feet,
Unload this weight off my shoulder,
Waited tables, while the whole world feasts;
On my weary bones & tired limbs;
Washed, cleaned , moped & cooked-
But never to feel my tummy full..
My voice is not heard, for a thousand miles,
Scattered around like fallen leaves;
Time steps ahead, I stand helpless,
Watching my Happiness …gently pass me by.

There is no sight more sad & tragic than Child Labour. Dedicated to all those innocent tiny hearts & freedom hungry eyes…..

Cushion Talk

Just like democracy is an integral part of the constitution, congress an integral part of watsapp  jokes, Mr Bachan the ‘soul ‘ of KBC ……cushion covers make an integral part of home decor. It can make or break ‘the look’.

I say we all are like ‘cushions inside a cushion cover’. A beautiful cover will mask & hide, what ever is stuffed inside (feelings, food, thoughts, action,…. ) for a while. But soon if the filling ain’t good; it’s gonna be food ‘for thought’. The cover will start creasing, drooping, bulging, tearing & more. In short will take a new avatar (not necessarly the awesome Avatar by James Cameron). So be a balanced cushion & let that cover stay beautiful.

Pardon me , if my cushion talk is sounding like ‘saaraamsh ‘ for a Tulsidas’s दोहा ।       Lingering exam fever psychosis. Someone rightly said ” Insanity is hereditary,       you can get it from your children” ; rampant during these months.

Now back to cushion covers. These are some covers made out of my children’s outgrown tees & dresses .These days children take the spirit of competition to a different level……..they seem to compete with the price of onions.

 So all those brand new clothes – too grand to part with, but too scant to cover our shooting stars . Snap of a finger ( my seamstress’s ) & there you have–
